  1. Day 1 Welcome to Srinagar

    Your trip to Srinagar starts with mid-morning arrival at airport. Check in to hotel and relax for sometime. After some time start you tour of Srinagar with visit to the Badamwari Garden, follow it up with visit to the Shankaracharya Hill and temple. after lunch visit Nigeen lake, considered a part of Dal lake. In the evening visit the Chatti Padshahi Gurudwara. Late in the evening visit Dal lake. Comeback to hotel and retire for the day after dinner. 

  2. Day 2 Srinagar Sightseeing

    After an early wakeup and breakfast with Kahwa,the famous Kashmiri green tea, kickstart your Sringar sightseeing tour with visit to 3 Mughal Gardens with your new wife. First start with Shalimar Bagh, spend sometime there and admire the beauty and architecture; and later visit Nishat Bagh and savor the beauty of the surroundings. After lunch visit Chasme Shahi, late in afternoon comeback to hotel and relax. In the evening visit the world-famous Dal Lake, and take your newly weded wife on a romantic ride on a Shikara and watch the sunset from Dal lake. Later in the evening, visit Kashmir Government Arts Emporium near Dal Lake, Srinagar. Comeback to hotel and retire for the day after dinner.

  3. Day 3 Welcome to Sonmarg

    Get up early and after a hearty breakfast head out for tour of Sonmarg nearly 80 kms away. The hill station is famous for its pristine beauty. Check into the hotel and relax. After a heavy Kashmiri style lunch, head out to visit he beautiful peaks in and around Sonmarg. Get a glimpse of the 5000 meter plus snow-capped mountains like Sirbal Peak, Amarnath Peak, Kolhoi Peak, and Machoi Peak.  Late in the afternoon visit the Gangabal Lake, and Vishansar Lake. In the evening trek to the Thaijwas glacier to watch a stunning sunset. Comeback to hotel and relax with your wife, and call it a day after dinner. 

  4. Day 4 Visit to Gulmarg

    Get up early and freshen up, bid adieu to Sonmarg for visit to Gulmarg nearly 125 kms away. The prime tourist destination in Kashmir apart from Srinagar, its well known for its natural environment and is a prime ski and winter sports destination during winter season. Check into hotel in mid-afternoon and after a quick lunch, head out to the ropeway car, Watch the scenic beauty from the cable car. Visit the worlds’ highest golf course, to watch magnificent snow-capped mountains. Then visit Rani temple followed by visit to the Baba Reshi shrine and St. Mary’s Church. In the late afternoon visit Apharwat mountain to watch the sunset. Comeback to hotel and retire for the day after dinner.

  5. Day 5 Visit to Pahalgam

    Get up early and freshen up and say good bye to Gulmarg after breakfast for visit to Pahalgam, a hill station nearly 139 kms away. While going towards Pahalgam make a brief stop for refreshment and also to watch the stunning mountainous locales in Avantipura especially the avantipura temple ruins and the saffron fields of Pampore. Check into hotel and relax. After lunch in the afternoon head out to visit the picturesque Aru valley followed by visit to Pahalgam golf course and then visit the Baisaran hills. In the late afternoon visit the Tulian lake and Sheshnag lake for a stunning view of sunset. Comeback to the hotel and retire for the day after dinner.

  6. Day 6 Head to Srinagar

    Get up early and after a quick breakfast, kickstart your journey to Srinagar nearly 92 kms away. While returning from Pahalgam make it a point to visit Mamleshwar temple and Chandanwari. After mid-morning arrival check in to hotel and relax for sometime with your new wife. After lunch visit Manasbal lake, followed by Pari Mahal ruins. Later visit Badamwari garden followed by visit to Shankaracharya Temple. Comeback to hotel and retire for the day after a hearty Kashmiri wazwan dinner.

  7. Day 7 Pack Up !!! Time to Go Home

    Get up early, freshen up and after a quick breakfast, bid adieu to Srinagar for a trip back home. Check out of the hotel based on your timing of flight, and head home with memories of this honeymoon trip clicked in a smartphone or camera.

It’s safe to visit Kashmir valley nowadays. However, nowadays both in domestic and international tourist in past few years. However, one needs to work around the frequent shutdowns calls given by secessionist, to visit various areas in and around Srinagar, the hub of all tourism activities in Kashmir valley.

The Dal Lake houses houseboats that are 2 kms away from city center. People visiting houseboat and wanting to travel on Shikara that are always available at the houseboats, have to make prior arrangements to avoid last minute rush. Both houseboat and Shikara travel are costly and better to get the tourist agency arrange for one, or fork out on your own.

Gulmarg Ropeway also called Gulmarg Gondola, is the world’s second highest operating cable car. The ropeway stretches all the way from Kongdori mountains to the end of Kongdori valley. It has two phases, in the first phase people move from Gulmarg to Kongdori. In the second phase, mostly opted by adventure junkies who like to ski; the ropeway moves to the top of Kongdori mountain. The cost for 1st phase is INR 740 and the 2nd phase is INR 950, both for adults and children above 3 years age. There is also a chair lift from Kongdori to Marry shoulder that costs INR 270.  While ride for children below three years is free on both phases, kids below 10-year age are not allowed on the chair lift. The timing of the gondola is from 10 AM to 5 PM, depending on the weather in both stages. A gondola can carry a maximum of six people at a time. Thosde who wanjt to go on a skiing trip must get a ski pass before riding ion the gondola.

The ski pass for going on a ski trip to Gulmarg is charged on one time, one day, weekly and seasonal basis on both phases. One-time charge for Indians on phase one is INR 370 and on phase to is INR 480, via ski lift it is INR 270. One day for Indians on phase one is INR 740 and on phase two is INR 1210, The weekly charge is INR 3150 & INR 7130 for both phases respectively. While the seasonal pass on all three lifts costs INR 36680. For ski lift on one day and weekly basis, its better to do enquiry. One-time charge for foreign nationals on phase one is INR 370 and on phase to is INR 480, via ski lift it is INR 270. One day for foreign nationals on phase one is INR 1210 and on phase two is INR 1900 and on ski lift is INR 5350, The weekly charge is INR 9490 for second phase while for 1st phase and ski lift they need to enquire. While the seasonal pass on all three lifts costs INR 36680.

On visit to Kashmir it is must to carry heavy woollens, sweaters and scarves especially if travelling during winter. Durable shoes are a must if you want to indulge in adventure activities. Better carry Umbrella, if travelling during summer or rainy season. Also must are basic medicine for emergency.

For visiting various cities and tourist locations numerous travel agencies as well as state government provide coach and tourist taxis. If visiting different cities on longer trips better to use mini bus. For travelling inside the cities auto rickshaws are best for commuting.

The trip itineraries guided trips are liable to change to provide some flexibility in the tour itinerary. However, while travelling in Kashmir it is better to keep yourself informed of the prevailing law and order situation as that allows make needed changes if needed. Also unforeseen circumstances like curfew, landslides, heavy snowfall can necessitate significant change in the itinerary, which may require change in accommodation and/or unplanned travel. In such cases tourist may have to contribute financially in portions.
