Himachal Pradesh literally means ‘Land Covered in Snow’. This North Indian state nestled in the Himalayas is basically divided into two halves with Shimla, the capital in the centre. The area above it is mountainous; while the area below it is plains. The state is also home to the exiled Tibetan Government that operates out of Dharamshala, a beautiful town also called the winter capital of the state. The spiritual head of Tibetan Buddhists, His Holiness The Dalai Lama; also lives here. Himachal Pradesh was created after bifurcation of Punjab.

The state is especially famous for its apples. It is credited to Satyanand Stokes who was born Samuel Stokes in the USA for introducing the apples in the state. The apples of Himachal Pradesh are well-known for their taste. The apples are a must buy for every tourists visiting the state, and the most important horticulture export item of the state. Himachal Pradesh is also famous for its tea gardens, spread around the slopes of Shimla. Apart from Shimla and Dharamshala, other places worth visiting are Lahaul-Spiti valley, Mandi, Kullu, Manali, Dalhosie, Chail, Kufri, Mcleodganj, Manikaran, Solan and more.   1. Day 1 Start in Delhi and Head to Manali

    The trip starts with early morning arrival at Delhi airport or railway station. After refreshment the trip heads straight to Manali by bus 540 kms away. Savor the mesmerising beauty of nature on the way in this bus trip. Along the way have your lunch and snacks. Arrive at the hotel by evening; after checking into hotel just unwind or head out to the mal road and retire for the day after dinner.

  2. Day 2 Rohtang Pass Tour

    Get up early and after a scrumptious local breakfast, get ready for the trip of a lifetime to Rohtang Pass. Reach snow point and get mesmerized by watching the sunrise. If it is snowing play in the snow, or do skiing, snow scooter ride, and horse riding or simply savor the picturesque surroundings. After lunch head out for the picturesque Solang valley, another location 13 kms away. Watch the stunning glaciers and snow-capped mountains. Comeback to hotel and retire for the day after dinner.

  3. Day 3 Naggar Castle Detour

    Get up early and after a hearty local breakfast, take a bus trip to next destination of the beautiful Naggar Castle, about 22 kms away. On the way admire the nature at its best. Visit the nearby Tripura Sundari Temple, Gauri Shankar Temple and Jagatsukh Shiva Temple and Hampta Pass. After lunch on the way back visit Jogini waterfalls, Vashisht village, and old manali. In the evening try dinner at any restaurant offering international cuisine. Comeback to hotel and retire for the day.

  4. Day 4 Pack up!!! Time to Go Home

    Get up very early and pack up completely. Before checking out of the hotel, visit the Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa Monastery, and Hidimba Devi temple. Based on timing of flight or train to your hometown from Delhi, head home with memories of this trip clicked in a smartphone or camera.
