Himachal Pradesh literally means ‘Land Covered in Snow’. This North Indian state nestled in the Himalayas is basically divided into two halves with Shimla, the capital in the centre. The area above it is mountainous; while the area below it is plains. The state is also home to the exiled Tibetan Government that operates out of Dharamshala, a beautiful town also called the winter capital of the state. The state is especially famous for its apples. It is credited to Satyanand Stokes who was born Samuel Stokes in the USA for introducing the apples in the state. The apples of Himachal Pradesh are well-known for their taste. The apples are a must buy for every tourists visiting the state, and the most important horticulture export item of the state. Himachal Pradesh is also famous for its tea gardens, spread around the slopes of Shimla.   1. Day 1 Start in Delhi and Head to Shimla

    The trip starts with early morning arrival at Chandigarh airport or railway station. After refreshment the trip heads straight to Shimla by Car 113 kms away. After checking into hotel have lunch and unwind. In the evening go on a walk on the beautiful Mall Road. Browse through shops selling variety of products. Those interested in street foods can enjoy snacks in various street side food stalls. Tourist can also visit Scandal Point, explore tunnels connecting the city. Comeback and retire for the day after dinner.

  2. Day 2 Shimla Sightseeing Tour

    Get up early and after a scrumptious local breakfast, get ready for the full day Shimla sightseeing tour. Start your Shimla and its surroundings tour with visit to Christ Church, Sankat Mochan Temple, Jakhu Hill Temple, Jutogh, Summer Hill, Tara Devi Temple, and Kali Bari Temple. After lunch, visit Himalayan Bird Park and Shimla State Museum. If time permits visit Viceregal Lodge, Johnnie’s Wax Museum, Chadwick waterfall, and Tattapani hot springs. In the evening unwind and retire for the day after dinner.

  3. Day 3 Move from Shimla to Manali

    Get up early and after a hearty local breakfast checkout of hotel, take a bus trip to next big destination to Manali, over 247 kms away via the picturesque Kulu valley. On the way admire the lush green valley’s forests and deep gorges. A stopover to be provided during refreshment to admire nature. After arriving at the hotel, take a lunch and relax. In the evening, visit Mall road and after some window shopping/souvenir hunting, comeback to hotel and retire for the day after dinner.

  4. Day 4 Head Towards Rohtang Pass

    Get up very early when it’s still dark and head towards Rohtang Pass nearly 52 kms away in a taxi.  Rohtang Pass is the gateway to Leh/Ladakh. Reach snow point and get mesmerized by watching the sunrise. If it is snowing play in the snow or simply savor the picturesque surroundings. After this comeback to hotel and relax after lunch. In late afternoon head out for stroll on the mall road and do some souvenir hunting in the shops.

  5. Day 5 Manali Sightseeing Tour

    Get up early and after sumptuous breakfast head out on sightseeing tour of surrounding areas. Start from Old Manali, then visit Manikaran hot springs and gurudwara, Hidimba Devi Temple, Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa Monastery, Rahala Falls, Jana Waterfall, and Raghunath Temple. After lunch visit Siyali Mahadev Temple, Beas Kund, Bhrigu Lake, Pandoh Dam, Jogini Waterfall, and Hampta Pass. In the evening relax and retire for the day after dinner.

  6. Day 6 Head to Chandigarh

    Get up early and after sumptuous local breakfast checkout of hotel and move towards Chandigarh by car some 309 kms away. Chandigarh is India’s first planned city after Independence; and designed by noted architect Le Corbusier. Savor the natural surroundings on this trip. After checking in at hotel, unwind. In the late afternoon go for a stroll in the nearby markets, and then visit rose garden, Sukhna lake, and Capitol Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Comeback and retire for day after dinner.

  7. Day 7 Pack up!!! Time to Go Home

    Rise early and pack up completely before checking out of the hotel, based on timing of flight or train to your hometown from Chandigarh. Head home with memories of this trip clicked in a smartphone or camera.
